This award is given in honor of Laura Maloney. Laura was an incredible girl with a passion for horses. In her honor, this award is given to inspire and fuel a passion for horses in current and future 4-H members.
This award is given annually to a Pine County 4-H member to support their involvement in the horse project. One recipient will be selected to receive a monetary award of up to $100. Awarded money can be used to purchase horse tack, to attend horse trainings/clinics, towards the purchase of a horse, to purchase feed, or other various ways to support their horse project involvement.
The recipient will be selected based on their need, plans, and 4-H/community involvement. The recipient must be currently enrolled in Pine County 4-H. The recipient must also show a horse or horse related project at the county fair the year of receiving the award.
Applications are due at the Extension Office annually by May 15.
